General description
Bone morphogenetic protein 15 (BMP15), also known as Growth/differentiation factor 9B (GDF9B), is part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily. BMP15 is an oocyte-specific growth and differentiation factor that stimulates folliculogenesis and development as well as granulosa cell (GC) growth. BMP15 is expressed exclusively in the oocyte. BMP15 defects are linked to ovarian dysgenesis type 2 (ODG2) and premature ovarian failure type 4 (POF4). Potentially, BMP15 could be an oogenesis marker, used to monitor the differentiation of human amniotic fluid stem cells into oocyte-like cells.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human BMP15.
